Description
The Watts LFN9C-M5 3/8 is a 3/8" lead-free dual check valve with FNPT connections, approved for low health hazard protection. It is rated to 125 psi and 33°F to 140°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.
This 3/8 inch lead free dual check vacuum breaker backflow preventer prevents the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply. It consists of a chrome plated lead free body construction with an atmospheric vent and NPT female inlet and outlet connections. It is designed for non-health hazard continuous pressure applications, such as parlor sinks.

- What hazard level is this Dual Check approved for?
- It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the substance downstream could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly instead.
- Is this model legal for potable water?
- Yes. It is certified lead-free to NSF/ANSI 372, which is what state plumbing codes require for any device in a drinking-water line.
- Can this device be field tested?
- No. It has no test cocks and is not a testable assembly, so it cannot be certified by a backflow tester. Where a jurisdiction requires an annually tested device, specify a testable assembly (double check, RPZ, or PVB) instead.
