The Watts LF7R 1/2 is a 1/2" lead-free dual check valve with NPT connections, approved for low health hazard protection. It features a copper body and a epdm seat. Rated to 175 psi. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.
This lead free female union NPT tailpiece extends the lay length of a 1/2 inch lead free dual check valve backflow preventer, series LF7R, to match the length of the 1/2 inch dual check valve backflow preventer, series 7. It is made of lead free brass and has female union NPT connection.

- What hazard level is this Dual Check approved for?
- It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the substance downstream could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly instead. The assembly is listed to ASSE 1024.
- Is this model legal for potable water?
- Yes. It is certified lead-free to NSF/ANSI 372, which is what state plumbing codes require for any device in a drinking-water line.
- Can this device be field tested?
- No. It has no test cocks and is not a testable assembly, so it cannot be certified by a backflow tester. Where a jurisdiction requires an annually tested device, specify a testable assembly (double check, RPZ, or PVB) instead.
