Watts BV-206, Cast Iron

The Watts BV-206 is a 6" backwater valve. It sits in the building drain and seals against reverse flow to keep sewer backups out of the building. It features a cast iron body.

Where does this valve get installed?

The BV-206 installs in a horizontal drain line, sized to the pipe it serves, and must stay reachable for inspection and cleaning — most codes require it.

Will it block normal drainage?

No. It sits normally open, so waste drains through it the way it would through plain pipe. It closes only when flow reverses, which is what keeps a surcharging sewer out of the building.
