Watts BV3 Check Valve, Bronze, Solvent

The Watts BV3 is a 3" backwater valve with Solvent connections. It sits in the building drain and seals against reverse flow to keep sewer backups out of the building. It features a bronze body.

This Watts light commercial bronze, internal backwater valve is manufactured for use with 3 inch pipe. It features a neoprene seal and float and a stainless steel light tension spring.

Common Questions

Where does this valve get installed?

The BV3 installs in a horizontal drain line, sized to the pipe it serves, and must stay reachable for inspection and cleaning — most codes require it.

Will it block normal drainage?

No. It sits normally open, so waste drains through it the way it would through plain pipe. It closes only when flow reverses, which is what keeps a surcharging sewer out of the building.
