The Watts 9DM2 (W/PRESS) 3/4 is a 3/4" dual check valve with Press connections, approved for low health hazard protection. It features a bronze body and a rubber seat. Rated to 175 psi and 33°F to 250°F.
This 3/4 inch dual check valve backflow preventer with atmospheric vent prevents the reverse flow of hot or cold polluted water from entering into the potable water supply. This valve is designed for continuous pressure non-health hazard applications in smaller supply lines, such as laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, dairy equipment, and specifically for boiler feed lines. It consists of a bronze body with stainless steel internal parts, integral strainer, two durable tight seating rubber check valves, NPT female inlet and outlet connections with Viega ProPress ® connection adapters.

- What hazard level is this Dual Check approved for?
- It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the substance downstream could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly instead. The assembly is listed to ASSE 1012.
- Can this be installed on potable water?
- No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it may not be installed in potable water systems in states enforcing the NSF/ANSI 372 weighted-average lead rule. Use it on non-potable service — fire lines, irrigation or industrial water — or order the LF (lead-free) version of this model for drinking-water use.
- Can this device be field tested?
- No. It has no test cocks and is not a testable assembly, so it cannot be certified by a backflow tester. Where a jurisdiction requires an annually tested device, specify a testable assembly (double check, RPZ, or PVB) instead.
- How does this have to be installed?
- It is approved for either horizontal or vertical installation, with the flow arrow on the body pointing in the direction of flow.
