Common Questions

What size do I need for my fixtures?

The SS-EE is PDI size E under PDI Standard WH201, rated for 114–154 fixture units. Total the fixture units on the branch you are protecting and choose the letter whose range covers that total — PDI sizes run AA (1–3 fixture units) through F (155–330). Above 154 fixture units on the branch, step up to the next letter.

Is it ASSE 1010 certified?

Yes. The SS-EE is certified to ASSE 1010, the performance standard for water hammer arrestors, and complies with PDI WH201.

Is it lead-free / potable safe?

The SS-EE is not carried as a lead-free (LF) certified model. It is all-stainless construction, so there are no brass or bronze wetted parts, but the lead-free certification is not on file for it. Where a job specifically requires a lead-free certified arrestor, choose a Watts LF-prefixed model such as the LF15M2 series.

Does it need recharging?

No. The SS-EE is a pre-charged, permanently sealed stainless steel bellows unit. There is nothing to recharge and no maintenance is required.
