The Zurn Wilkins 34-NR3XLDUC is a 3/4" lead-free pressure reducing valve with double union Sweat connections. It reduces inlet pressure of up to 400 psi to an adjustable 15-75 psi downstream, factory set at 50 psi. It features a lead-free bronze body. Rated to 400 psi and up to 140°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

What pressure is it set to out of the box?

34-NR3XLDUC ships factory set at 50 psi. The adjustable reduced-pressure range is 15 to 75 psi, so you can dial the outlet anywhere in that band on site with the adjusting bolt - loosen the locknut, turn to raise or lower pressure, retighten and verify with a downstream gauge.

Does it include a strainer?

Yes - 34-NR3XLDUC has an integral strainer built into the body, so a separate inline strainer ahead of it is not required. It is accessible for cleaning without removing the valve from the line.

Does it have a built-in bypass for thermal expansion, or do I still need an expansion tank?

34-NR3XLDUC includes an integral thermal-expansion bypass that relieves excess downstream pressure back toward the supply when street pressure is lower. It is not a substitute for a properly sized expansion tank where your local code requires one - the bypass only relieves back to the street when street pressure is lower than the closed-system pressure.
