This 1 1/2 inch lead free cast copper silicon alloy water pressure reducing valve is equipped for low pressure ranges with gauge tapping and a 160 psi (11.0 bar) gauge. It is designed to reduce incoming water pressure to protect plumbing systems and reduce water consumption for commercial, industrial and residential applications. The easy maintenance assembly consists of a replaceable seat module and a bypass feature to control thermal expansion pressure. The temperature range is 33 to 180 degrees F (0.5 to 82 degrees C). The low pressure range is 10 to 35 psi (69 to 241 kPa) with the standard setting at 30 psi (207 kPa).

- Does it have a built-in bypass for thermal expansion, or do I still need an expansion tank?
- LF25AUB-GG-LP-Z3 1 1/2 includes an integral thermal-expansion bypass. When downstream pressure from a water heater rises above the inlet pressure, the bypass relieves that excess back through the valve toward the supply, which prevents nuisance pressure build-up on a closed system. It is not a substitute for a properly sized thermal expansion tank where your local code requires one - the bypass only relieves back to the street when street pressure is lower, so check the code in your jurisdiction.
