The Watts LF25AUB-G-HP-Z3 1 1/4 is a 1-1/4" lead-free pressure reducing valve with single union NPT connections. It reduces inlet pressure of up to 300 psi to an adjustable 75-125 psi downstream, factory set at 90 psi. It features a copper body and a epdm seat. Rated to 300 psi and 33°F to 180°F. This 1 1/4 inch lead free brass water pressure reducing valve is designed to reduce incoming water pressure to protect plumbing systems and reduce water consumption for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. The easy maintenance assembly consists of a replaceable seat module, NPT threaded female union inlet by NPT female outlet connections, stainless steel strainer, a thermal expansion bypass, and a gauge port tapping furnished with a pipe plug. The temperature range is 33 to 180 degrees F (0.5 to 82 degrees C). Suitable for up to 300 psi (20.7 bar), the pressure range can be adjusted from 75 to 125 psi (5.2 to 8.6 bar).

- Does it have a built-in bypass for thermal expansion, or do I still need an expansion tank?
- LF25AUB-G-HP-Z3 1 1/4 includes an integral thermal-expansion bypass. When downstream pressure from a water heater rises above the inlet pressure, the bypass relieves that excess back through the valve toward the supply, which prevents nuisance pressure build-up on a closed system. It is not a substitute for a properly sized thermal expansion tank where your local code requires one - the bypass only relieves back to the street when street pressure is lower, so check the code in your jurisdiction.
