The Watts LF123LP 1/2 is a 1/2" lead-free pressure reducing valve with NPT connections. It reduces inlet pressure of up to 200 psi to an adjustable 10-30 psi downstream, factory set at 25 psi. It features a copper body and a epdm seat. Rated to 200 psi. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.
This 1/2 inch low water pressure regulator is used in residential and point-of-use applications to regulate water pressure in piping systems that require low pressure regulation. It consists of a bronze body construction, NPT threaded female connections, stainless steel seat, stainless steel integral strainer, reinforced EPDM diaphragm, and EPDM valve disc. It is serviceable in-line. The adjustable reduced pressure range is 10 to 30 psi (0.68 to 2.0 bar) and is set at 25 psi (1.7 bar). The temperature range is 33 to 180 degrees F (0.6 to 82 degrees C).

Common Questions
- Does it have a built-in bypass for thermal expansion, or do I still need an expansion tank?
- No - LF123LP 1/2 does not include a thermal-expansion bypass. Once this valve is installed the system downstream of it is closed, so a thermal expansion tank (and, where required, a relief valve) must be installed to absorb expansion from a water heater. If you want the bypass built in, choose the -B version of this model.
- What pressure is it set to out of the box?
- LF123LP 1/2 ships factory set at 25 psi. The adjustable reduced-pressure range is 10 to 30 psi, so you can dial the outlet anywhere in that band on site with the adjusting screw - loosen the locknut, turn in to raise pressure and out to lower it, then retighten and verify with a gauge.
- Does it include a strainer?
- Yes - LF123LP 1/2 has an integral stainless steel strainer built into the body, so you do not need a separate inline strainer ahead of it. The strainer is removable for cleaning; if the valve starts to lose downstream pressure, pull and rinse the strainer before assuming the seat has failed.
- Does it come with a gauge?
- No - LF123LP 1/2 has no gauge and no gauge tapping. Set the outlet pressure using a gauge elsewhere on the downstream piping. The -GG version of this model ships with a gauge tapping and a 160 psi gauge.
