Description
The Watts 1/2 SBD1156F is a 1/2" pressure reducing valve with single union Sweat connections. It reduces high or fluctuating inlet pressure to a lower, constant downstream pressure. It features a bronze body. Rated to 100 psi and up to 212°F.
This 1/2 inch dial set high capacity feed water pressure regulator is for use in commercial and residential hydronic heating systems to fill the boiler and piping system with water, and to maintain water pressure in the system at all times. It also provides make-up water to the system in the event of system leaks. It consists of an easy-to-read dial pressure setting indicator, bronze body with union solder inlet and NPT threaded outlet connections, tight seating check valve, fast-fill purge lever for manual purging, and a stainless steel strainer. It has high capacity performance and a simplified servicing design. It is suitable for use in the boiler feed lines of hydronic heating systems. The maximum pressure is 100 psi (6.9 bar).

Common Questions
- Does it include a strainer?
- Yes - 1/2 SBD1156F has an integral stainless steel strainer built into the body, so you do not need a separate inline strainer ahead of it. The strainer is removable for cleaning; if the valve starts to lose downstream pressure, pull and rinse the strainer before assuming the seat has failed.
- Does it come with a gauge?
- No - 1/2 SBD1156F has no gauge and no gauge tapping. Set the outlet pressure using a gauge elsewhere on the downstream piping.
