Zurn 6-48OSYGXF Lead-Free Resilient Wedge Gate Valve with Outside Stem & Yoke (OS&Y)

The Zurn Wilkins 6-48OSYGXF is a 6" resilient-wedge gate valve with an outside stem & yoke (OS&Y). It is UL Listed, C-UL Listed and FM Approved, rated 250 psi maximum working water pressure. It features a ductile iron body. Rated to 250 psi and up to 140°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

The 48OS&Y Gate Valve is used to provide a visual indication of whether a valve is in the open or closed position, and is utilized on fire sprinkler system applications. Features of this resilient wedge gate valve include stainless steel internals and stem, and outside stem and yoke. The 48OS&Y has a maximum working water pressure of 250 psi, maximum working water temperature of 140°F, and hydrostatic test pressure of 500 psi. Choose from connection options such as flanged, grooved, or flanged x grooved ends.

Yes. Every Model 48 gate valve -- NRS or OS&Y -- is UL Listed, C-UL Listed and FM Approved, and meets AWWA C515 / C-550. It can be identified as a genuine Zurn Wilkins valve by the raised "WILKINS" lettering cast into the body.

Rising or non-rising stem?

This is an OS&Y (outside stem and yoke) valve -- the stem rises out of the yoke as it opens, giving a visual open/closed indication and room for a supervisory tamper switch (OSY-40 accessory).
