The Zurn Wilkins 34UFX34F-700 is a lead-free dual check valve, approved for low health hazard protection. It features a bronze body. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

The 700XL Dual Check Valve is used in low hazard applications on potable water lines to protect against both backsiphonage and backpressure of polluted water. A non-testable device, the 700XL is available in a variety of inlet and outlet sizes, connection types, and thread types, and comes standard with a union inlet connection and integral body outlet connection. Simply confirm the inlet connection, outlet connection, and location of the union, then select from our configuration options for easy installation. The 700XL can be installed horizontally or vertically so long as no part of the unit is submerged.

It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the downstream substance could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly or a detector assembly instead.

Is this model legal for potable water?

Yes. It is certified lead-free to NSF/ANSI 372, which is what state plumbing codes require for any device in a drinking-water line.

Can this device be field tested?

No. It is not a testable assembly, so it cannot be certified by a backflow tester. Where a jurisdiction requires an annually tested device, specify a testable assembly (double check, RPZ, or PVB) instead.
