Zurn 34-P4000A 3/4" Pressure Relief Valve, Bronze

The Zurn Wilkins 34-P4000A is a 3/4" P4000A thermal expansion relief valve for fire protection systems, a direct-acting, spring-loaded diaphragm valve that vents excess upstream pressure before it can damage the distribution network. It features a bronze body. Rated to 300 psi and 33°F to 140°F.

Water pressure relief valve P4000A prevents pressure build-up in a fire protection system or other closed type system whenever the line pressure exceeds the setting of the spring caused by pumps, elevated piping and thermal expansion. This water pressure regulator valve comes with 3/4" pressure relief valve which is designed for fire sprinkler system relief. Built using cast bronze and stainless steel, this pressure control valve has standard adjustability from 20-200psi.

Common Questions

What set pressure does this relieve at?

It is field-adjustable over a 50-200 psi range (150-300 psi on the HR option) by turning the compression spring in the bell -- it is not a fixed factory setting.

Is a relief valve like this required by code?

UL requires a relief valve of at least 1/2" downstream of the pressure reducing valve on a fire protection standpipe; the P4000A fills that role and must discharge to an adequately drained location per NFPA 13/25.
