The Zurn Wilkins 2-950XLTDA is a 2" double check detector assembly (DCDA) with FNPT connections, approved for low health hazard protection. It features a bronze body. Rated to 175 psi and up to 180°F.

The 950XLTDA Double Check Detector Assembly is utilized in low health hazard, fire protection applications for protection against both backsiphonage and backpressure of polluted water into the potable water supply. It features a metered bypass to detect leaks and any unauthorized water use. The 975XLTDA is assembled with OS&Y shutoff valves, and can be installed vertically or horizontally for added versatility. Its cast bronze body and 300 series stainless steel internals are corrosion-resistant, and it features a maximum working water pressure of 175 psi and water temperature of 180°F.

What hazard level is this DCDA approved for?

It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the downstream substance could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly or a detector assembly instead. The assembly is listed to ASSE 1048.

Does this assembly have to be tested every year?

Yes. This is a field-testable assembly. Most water authorities require it to be tested and certified by a licensed backflow tester at installation and annually thereafter. It carries USC FCCCHR approval, which many jurisdictions accept as their sole approval list.

Is this suitable for a fire sprinkler line?
