Watts TWS-10 3/4 Through-Wall Shutoff, Bronze, Union

The Watts TWS-10 3/4 is a 3/4" through-wall shutoff for commercial installations. It opens with a tamper-resistant loose key. The inlet is 3/4" Union. The barrel is 10" long. It features a bronze body. Rated to 175 psi and 33°F to 140°F.

This 3/4" through the wall water supply shutoff is used to provide outside access to a building water supply for start-up, winterizing and servicing of irrigation sprinkler systems. It features a durable bronze body and shaft, one piece valve plunger, tamper resistant key operated hydrant, manual drain port, exterior chrome finish and union connection for ease of installation of a backflow preventer. It is 10" long. Maximum working pressure is 175 psi (12.06 bar).

Common Questions

Will it fit my wall?

This shutoff has a 10" barrel, measured from the outside face of the wall to the union outlet inside. Measure your wall including sheathing and finish, and order the length that puts the union inside the heated space. Watts builds the series in other lengths if yours differs.

Will it drain itself for winter?

No -- draining is manual, which is the point of this valve. It gives you outside access to shut off and drain the supply through the drain port when you winterize an irrigation system, and again at spring start-up. It is not a self-draining, non-freeze hydrant.

Does it include backflow protection?

No. The outlet is a union specifically so you can bolt the backflow preventer your code calls for onto it -- the shutoff and the backflow device are separate purchases here.

Do I need a key to operate it?

Yes -- it is key operated, which is the tamper resistance you are buying: no handle sticks out for anyone to open. It takes a standard loose key -- confirm you have one on site before the first start-up.
