Watts SS12 1/2" Float Valve, Glass-Reinforced Nylon

The Watts SS12 is a 1/2" piston-operated trough float valve for livestock watering and agricultural water supply, serviceable in place. It features a glass-reinforced nylon body. Rated to 60 psi.

This 1/2 inch float valve is piston operated and is fully serviceable. It is made from non-corrosive materials and is very compact in its construction. This valve is suited for individual livestock drinkers or hydroponic applications.

Common Questions

Does this include the float ball and rod?

Yes. This valve has an integral float and installs complete; there is no separate float ball or 3/8"-16 rod to buy, unlike the Watts bronze lever-arm float valves.

Can I use it on drinking water?

No. This valve is not certified lead-free and is for non-potable service only — cooling tower and refrigeration make-up, irrigation, livestock watering and tank fill. Do not install it on a potable water supply.

What is the flow capacity?

3 GPM @ 60 psi average. Size the valve to how fast the tank or trough has to refill, not just to the pipe it lands on.
