The Watts SS07F-GPM 8 is a 8" single detector check valve with Flanged connections. The metered bypass registers leakage or unauthorized water use on a fire sprinkler system. It features a stainless body. Rated to 175 psi and 33°F to 110°F.

This 8" stainless steel, single detector check valve for fire sprinkler systems is used in fire protection applications to detect leakage or unauthorized use of water in fire sprinkler systems. It consists of a stainless steel body construction with flanged connection, and stainless steel linkage parts. It is lightweight, non-corrosive, and can be installed in a horizontal or vertical position and has a gallons per minute meter. Maximum pressure is 175 psi (12.1 bar).

Common Questions

Can I install it vertically?

Yes. The SS07F-GPM 8 is rated for horizontal or vertical lines. In a vertical run the flow must be upward through the valve, following the body arrow.

Will it slam or cause water hammer?

Possibly. This is a clapper-style check, not a spring-loaded silent check, so it closes on the reverse flow and can slam on lines with abrupt stops.

Does it come with a strainer?

No. This is an inline check valve only. If the line carries debris, install a strainer upstream — grit on the seat is the usual cause of a check valve weeping by.

Is it potable rated?

No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it is not for potable-water piping — it is specified for fire protection service. Watts LF-prefixed check valves cover potable applications.
