Watts N360-Z1 3/4" Relief Valve, Brass, MNPT

The Watts N360-Z1 is a 3/4" vacuum relief valve for storage tank vacuum service. It features a brass body. Rated to 15 psi and up to 250°F.

This 3/4 inch vacuum relief valve is suitable for low pressure steam and water service. It can be mounted in-line in a horizontal or vertical position and is ideal for use in domestic water heaters and supply tanks. This valve automatically allows air to enter into the piping system to prevent vacuum conditions that could siphon water from the system and damage water equipment. It consists of a brass body, 3/4 inch male NPT connection, and a protective cap. The maximum steam working pressure is 15 psi (103 kPa).

Common Questions

What pressure does this relieve at?

None — this is a vacuum relief valve, not a pressure relief valve. It opens inward to admit air when the system goes into a vacuum (typically when a tank drains), which prevents the tank from collapsing. It does nothing about overpressure, and it does not replace the T&P valve a water heater requires.

Can I use this on potable water?

No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it cannot be installed in a potable (drinking) water line under the NSF/ANSI 372 weighted-average lead rule. Use it on non-potable service, or order the "LF" version of this model for potable water.
