Watts LFWGV 1/2 Lead-Free Gate Valve, Brass, FNPT

The Watts LFWGV 1/2 is a 1/2" lead-free gate valve with a non-rising stem (NRS), a solid wedge and female FNPT connections. It features a brass body and a buna-n seat. Rated to 200 psi and up to 180°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 1/2 inch lead free gate valve is used in commercial and residential general service applications on water, oil or compressed gas. This valve features a lead free brass body with NPT female threaded end connections, lead free brass non-rising stem and gland, lead free brass threaded bonnet, and cast iron handwheel. The maximum pressure is 200 psi (13.8 bar) WOG non-shock to 180 degrees F (82 degrees C).

Common Questions

Is this UL/FM listed for fire service?

No. This is a brass general-service gate valve for water, oil and compressed gas lines; it is not listed for fire protection. Use the UL/FM listed 408-OSY-RW series for fire mains.

Rising or non-rising stem?

Non-rising stem (NRS). The stem turns but does not travel, so the valve fits tight spaces, buried service and pits. There is no visual open/closed indication — use an OS&Y valve where that is required.

Is this a complete valve or just the replacement gate?

Complete valve. The LFWGV 1/2 ships as a full assembly — body, bonnet, wedge, stem and handwheel. The Watts NRS-RW-GATE / OSY-RW-GATE items are gate assemblies only, sold to service an existing valve.
