Watts LFSC8-4 3/4" Lead-Free Sillcock / Hose Bibb, Brass, FNPT

The Watts LFSC8-4 is a 3/4" lead-free sillcock (hose bibb) for residential installations. It opens with a handwheel; includes a hose-connection vacuum breaker for backflow protection. The inlet is 3/4" FNPT and the outlet is 3/4" MHT hose thread. It features a brass body. Rated to 100 psi. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This lead free sill cock lawn faucet with separate vacuum breaker is used in residential applications to permit the attachment of portable hoses to hose thread faucets. It is a lawn faucet that consists of a lead free brass body with 3/4 inch female NPT regular pattern, vacuum breaker, and a cast iron handwheel. It is ideal for inside and outside installations requiring non-continuous pressure such as general outside gardening and lawn uses. With the vacuum breaker installed, the hose bibb is tamper resistant and provides protection against backsiphonage. Maximum working pressure is 125 psi (8.6 bar) CWP.

Common Questions

Will it work in my wall thickness?

Wall thickness does not apply here. This is a standard sillcock: it threads or solders onto the pipe stub at the wall face rather than reaching through the wall, so the only fit question is the inlet connection. If you need the shutoff to sit inside a heated wall, use a frost-proof wall hydrant instead.

Is it freeze-proof, and will it drain itself?

No. This is a standard sillcock -- the valve is right at the wall face and water stands in it, so it will freeze and split in an unheated wall. In a freezing climate either shut it off at an interior stop and drain it every fall, or install a frost-proof wall hydrant.

Does it have a built-in vacuum breaker (anti-siphon)?

Yes. It ships with a vacuum breaker on the hose outlet, which stops water from being siphoned back out of a hose into your drinking water if the supply loses pressure. Once fitted, the breaker is tamper resistant and meant to stay on -- most codes require backflow protection on any hose connection.

Do I need a key to operate it?

No key. It opens with a handwheel that stays on the valve, so anyone can turn it on by hand. If you want it tamper resistant instead, look at the key-operated HY series.
