The Watts LFFHB-1 10 is a 3/4" lead-free frost-proof wall hydrant for residential installations. It opens with a handwheel; includes an integral vacuum breaker for backflow protection. The inlet is 1/2" Sweat and the outlet is 3/4" MHT hose thread. It is sized for a 10" wall. It features a brass body. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 10 inch lead free frost proof automatic draining wall hydrant is used in commercial and residential applications to provide freeze protection for the external water supply. It also includes a lead free brass vacuum breaker to provide backflow protection to the potable water supply. Designed for easy field service with a replaceable bibb washer to allow for repair inline without removing sill cock from the water line. This wall hydrant consists of a lead free brass body with nickel plated finish, 0.8 MM thick copper tube, allows for 1/2 inch solder or male IPS inlet, 3/4 inch hose outlet, and a steel hand wheel. This hydrant is designed to ASSE Standard 1019 and are certified to CSA B125 and CSA B64.2. IAPMO listed and certified to 1450 degrees F.

Common Questions

Will it work in my wall thickness?

This one is built for a 10" wall. Measure from the outside face of the finished wall to the inside surface where the supply line lands, then pick the length that puts the valve seat inside the heated space -- long enough is better than short. This series is stocked in other lengths, so match the number in the model to your wall rather than forcing this one.

Is it freeze-proof, and will it drain itself?

Yes on both. The valve seat sits at the inside end of the casing, inside the heated wall, and the barrel drains automatically every time you shut it off. Two conditions: pitch the casing slightly down toward the outside, and take the hose off for the winter -- a hose left attached traps water in the barrel and can split it no matter how the hydrant is rated.

Does it have a built-in vacuum breaker (anti-siphon)?

Yes -- the vacuum breaker is integral, so you do not add anything at the hose outlet. It protects the potable supply against backsiphonage from a hose left in a bucket, a pool, or a chemical sprayer when the main loses pressure. It is designed to ASSE 1019 and certified to CSA B64.2.

Do I need a key to operate it?

No key. It opens with a handwheel that stays on the valve, so anyone can turn it on by hand. If you want it tamper resistant instead, look at the key-operated HY series.
