Watts LFCLFNLF9 3/8 Lead-Free Dual Check Valve Backflow Preventer, FNPT

The Watts LFCLFNLF9 3/8 is a 3/8" lead-free dual check valve with FNPT connections, approved for low health hazard protection. It features a rubber seat. Rated to 150 psi and 33°F to 180°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 3/8 inch lead free dual check vacuum breaker backflow preventer prevents the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply. It is designed for non-health hazard continuous pressure applications, such as parlor sinks. It consists of a chrome plated lead free body construction with an atmospheric vent and NPT female inlet and outlet connections.

It is rated for low health hazard (non-toxic, "pollutant") cross-connections only. Where the substance downstream could be a health hazard, codes require a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly instead. The assembly is listed to ASSE 1035.

Is this model legal for potable water?

Yes. It is certified lead-free to NSF/ANSI 372, which is what state plumbing codes require for any device in a drinking-water line.
