Watts LFB6780M1 1 1/2 Lead-Free Ball Valve, NPT

The Watts LFB6780M1 1 1/2 is a 1-1/2" lead-free 2-piece full port ball valve with NPT connections. It features a ptfe seat. Rated to 400 psi and 0°F to 350°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 1 1/2 inch lead free two-piece full port diverter ball valve with threaded end connections is used in commercial and industrial applications designed to divert a full range of liquids and gases. The full port orifice ensures minimal pressure drop, while PTFE seat and chrome plated lead free brass ball provide lasting service. The temperature range is 0 to 350 degrees F (minus 18 to 177 degrees C) at 50 psi (3.5 bar). The maximum working pressure is 400 psi (28 bar) WOG non-shock at 100 degrees F (38 degrees C), 125 psi (8.6 bar) WSP.

Common Questions

Is this full port or standard port?

Full port. The ball bore matches the 1-1/2" pipe ID, so the valve adds almost no restriction — the right choice for pump suction, main shutoffs, and any run where you cannot give up head.

Can I use this on natural gas or propane?

No. This valve carries no fuel-gas listing, and code requires an ANSI Z21.15 / CSA listed valve for natural gas or LP. Use a Watts GBV series gas ball valve instead.

Is this rated for potable water?

Yes. It is a lead-free model (weighted lead content at or below 0.25%), so it is legal for potable water. Check the spec sheet if your submittal specifically requires an NSF/ANSI 61 listing.

What's the steam rating?

125 psi WSP (saturated steam). Do not size steam service off the 400 psi figure — that is the WOG/CWP rating (cold water, oil, gas, non-shock).

Can it be serviced without cutting it out?

No. A 2-piece body is not designed for in-line rebuild; it is replaced as a unit. Choose a three-piece valve (LFB6800 / S-6800 series) where in-line serviceability matters.
