Watts LF600 2 Lead-Free Check Valve, Brass, NPT

The Watts LF600 2 is a 2" lead-free silent spring check valve with NPT connections. It permits flow in one direction and closes against reverse flow. It features a brass body and a ptfe seat. Rated to 400 psi. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 2 inch lead free Maxi-Flo check valve is used in general industrial and plumbing applications to prevent the effects of water hammer in the piping system. It provides a silent operation with low pressure drop and can be installed horizontally or vertically. This valve consists of a lead free brass body, lead free brass check and adapter, conical lead free brass disc, PTFE seat and threaded end connections. The maximum working pressure rating is 400 psi (27.6 bar), WOG non-shock at minus 20 to 100 degrees F (minus 29 to 38 degrees C) and 15 psi (1 bar) WSP at 250 degrees F (121 degrees C).

Common Questions

Can I install it vertically?

Yes. The LF600 2 is rated for horizontal or vertical lines because the spring, not gravity, closes the disc. In a vertical run the flow must be upward through the valve, following the body arrow.

Will it slam or cause water hammer?

No. The spring closes the disc before the flow actually reverses, so the valve seats silently instead of being slammed shut by the returning column of water. That is the point of a silent (non-slam) check.

Does it come with a strainer?

No. This is an inline check valve only. If the line carries debris, install a strainer upstream — grit on the seat is the usual cause of a check valve weeping by.

Is it potable rated?

Yes. The LF600 2 is certified lead-free for potable-water piping.
