The Watts LF408OSY FLGxGRV 4 is a 4" lead-free gate valve with a rising OS&Y stem, a resilient wedge and Flanged connections. It is UL Listed and FM Approved for fire protection service. It features a cast iron body and a buna-n seat. Rated to 250 psi and up to 140°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 4 inch lead free OSY flanged gate valve is used in fire protection applications for fire main shutoffs. It features an epoxy coated, cast iron body with flanged by grooved end connections, resilient wedge disc, stainless steel non-rising stem and cast iron handwheel. This valve is UL/FM listed and complies with MSS-SP-70. The maximum pressure is 200 psi (13.8 bar) CWP.

Is this UL/FM listed for fire service?

Yes. The LF408OSY FLGxGRV 4 is UL Listed and FM Approved and complies with MSS SP-70, so it can be used as a fire main shutoff. Its OS&Y stem gives visual position indication and accepts a supervisory tamper switch.

Rising or non-rising stem?

OS&Y (outside stem and yoke) — the stem rises as the valve opens, giving visual position indication and room for a supervisory switch. It needs headroom above the valve.

Is this a complete valve or just the replacement gate?

What does "resilient wedge" mean?

The wedge is a ductile-iron disc fully encapsulated in rubber, so it seals bubble-tight against the epoxy-coated body without a bronze seat ring and holds up against high differential pressure.
