This 3/4 x 3/4 inch high capacity safety relief valve is designed for pressure cookers and steam cleaning equipment with low pressure requirements. It features a bronze body with an extended inlet shank, stainless steel spring, top guided stem, NPT threaded male inlet x threaded female outlet (drain) connection, and a non-stick PTFE® disc to metal seating ensures positive shutoff. The factory pressure setting for saturated steam service is set at 15 psi.

Is this ASME rated?

Yes — it carries an ASME Section IV rating for low-pressure steam heating boilers and is National Board certified. It is a steam safety valve; do not substitute it for a hot-water ("HV") relief valve, and do not use it above its set pressure.

Can I use this on potable water?

No. This is a boiler valve and is not approved for potable water, and that is true regardless of what the lead-free column says — hydronic boiler water is a closed, treated loop and is not drinking water. For a potable hot water heater or storage tank, use a T&P relief valve listed to ANSI Z21.22 / CSA 4.4 instead.
