The Watts HY330 is a 3/4" moderate-climate wall hydrant for commercial installations. It opens with a tamper-resistant loose key; includes an integral vacuum breaker for backflow protection; mounts in a recessed box with a door. The inlet is FNPT and the outlet is 3/4" MHT hose thread. It is sized for a 4.5" wall. It features a bronze body. Rated to 125 psi.
This concealed, moderate climate, key operated wall hydrant features a chrome plated face, all bronze head, seat casting and internal working parts, and a loose key. It is housed in a nickel bronze box with door and has a 3/4 inch MIP hose connection, 3/4 inch FIP by 1 inch MIP pipe connection, a 125psi maximum operating pressure and is designed to fit a 4 1/2 inch wall.

- Will it work in my wall thickness?
- This one is built for a 4.5" wall. Measure from the outside face of the finished wall to the inside surface where the supply line lands, then pick the length that puts the valve seat inside the heated space -- long enough is better than short. This series is stocked in other lengths, so match the number in the model to your wall rather than forcing this one.
- Is it freeze-proof, and will it drain itself?
- No. Watts rates this one for moderate climates: the valve is close to the face rather than back inside the heated wall, and it does not self-drain. If the wall sees freezing temperatures, use a non-freeze model such as the HY-420 or HY-725 instead.
- Does it have a built-in vacuum breaker (anti-siphon)?
- Yes -- the vacuum breaker is integral, so you do not add anything at the hose outlet. It protects the potable supply against backsiphonage from a hose left in a bucket, a pool, or a chemical sprayer when the main loses pressure. It is designed to ASSE 1019.
- Do I need a key to operate it?
- Yes -- it is key operated, which is the tamper resistance you are buying: no handle sticks out for anyone to open. A loose key is supplied with the hydrant; order spares if the building has several, because losing the only key means no water.
