This Watts Drains non-freeze, key operated, dual-temperature wall hydrant features a polished bronze face, all bronze head, seat casting and internal working parts, galvanized wall casing and a loose key. It is housed in a stainless steel box with door and has a 3/4 inch MIP hose connection, 3/4 inch FIP by 1 inch MIP pipe connection, a 125 psi maximum operating pressure and is designed to fit a 16 inch wall.

Common Questions
- Will it work in my wall thickness?
- This one is built for a 16" wall. Measure from the outside face of the finished wall to the inside surface where the supply line lands, then pick the length that puts the valve seat inside the heated space -- long enough is better than short. This series is stocked in other lengths, so match the number in the model to your wall rather than forcing this one.
- Is it freeze-proof, and will it drain itself?
- Yes on both. The valve seat sits at the inside end of the casing, inside the heated wall, and the barrel drains automatically every time you shut it off. Two conditions: pitch the casing slightly down toward the outside, and take the hose off for the winter -- a hose left attached traps water in the barrel and can split it no matter how the hydrant is rated.
- Does it have a built-in vacuum breaker (anti-siphon)?
- No, this model has no vacuum breaker. Where the code requires backflow protection on a hose connection, plan on an add-on breaker at the outlet, or choose a model with an integral vacuum breaker.
- Do I need a key to operate it?
- Yes -- it is key operated, which is the tamper resistance you are buying: no handle sticks out for anyone to open. A loose key is supplied with the hydrant; order spares if the building has several, because losing the only key means no water.
