Watts 994BLT 2 1/2 X 3 Relief Valve, FNPT

The Watts 994BLT 2 1/2 X 3 is a 3" backflow preventer with FNPT connections.

This 2 1/2 FNPT by 3 MNPT inch stainless steel reduced backflow preventer assembly comes without a meter. It is ideal for protection where the flow is in one direction and the possibility of cross-connection exists, such as on an existing hydrant hookup or other non-permanent installation. It prevents the reverse backflow through the fire hydrant of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. It consists of test cocks, built-in adjustable leg, corrosive resistant stainless steel bottom mounted relief valve, and torsion spring check valves. Its portable design is made to transport between job sites and will provide long-term service with minimal maintenance.

Can this be installed on potable water?

No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it may not be installed in potable water systems in states enforcing the NSF/ANSI 372 weighted-average lead rule. Use it on non-potable service — fire lines, irrigation or industrial water — or order the LF (lead-free) version of this model for drinking-water use.

Is this listed for fire protection service?

Yes — it is UL Classified, the listings normally required for a backflow device on a fire sprinkler supply.
