The Watts 97FB-CIB 2 is a 2" basket strainer with Flanged connections that removes pipeline debris and particulates to protect downstream equipment. It features a cast iron body. Rated to 200 psi.

This cast iron simplex basket strainer, 2 inch Watts Model 97FB-CI, is for use in liquid and steam applications. It has a plugged blow off connection and angle designed baskets. The basket strainer comes with a bolted cover and a graphite gasket and may only be installed in a horizontal position.

Can I use this on steam?

97FB-CIB 2 is listed by Watts for steam and liquid service. Its 200 psi WOG rating is a cold-service number, not the steam limit -- check the spec sheet for the WSP rating at your operating temperature.

Does it have a blowoff / blowdown port?

Yes. The retainer cap/cover is tapped for a blowoff connection, so you can flush accumulated debris by pulling the plug or piping a blowdown valve to it -- no need to break the strainer apart. The closure plug is included.
