This cast iron simplex basket strainer, 10 inch Watts Model 97FB-CI, is for use in liquid and steam applications. It has a plugged blow off connection and angle designed baskets. The basket strainer comes with a bolted cover and a graphite gasket and may only be installed in a horizontal position.

Can I use this on steam?

97FB-CIB 10 is listed by Watts for steam and liquid service. Its 200 psi WOG rating is a cold-service number, not the steam limit -- check the spec sheet for the WSP rating at your operating temperature.

Does it have a blowoff / blowdown port?
