Watts 1/2 B911 (PRESS XTHD) Pressure Reducing Valve, Bronze, Press

The Watts 1/2 B911 (PRESS XTHD) is a 1/2" backflow preventer with Press connections. It features a bronze body. Rated to 100 psi and up to 212°F.

This 1/2 inch bronze combination fill valve and backflow preventer is for use in commercial and residential hydronic heating systems to provide make-up water to the boiler, and prevent backflow when supply pressure falls below system pressure. It consists of a bronze backflow preventer, model 9D, and a bronze feed water pressure regulator, model BD1156F, in one pre-assembled unit. The high capacity fill valve provides quick system filling and purging. It is designed for use in the boiler feed lines of hydronic heating systems and has 1/2 inch union Viega ProPress inlet x NPT threaded outlet connections. The maximum pressure is 100 psi (6.9 bar).

Can this be installed on potable water?

No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it may not be installed in potable water systems in states enforcing the NSF/ANSI 372 weighted-average lead rule. Use it on non-potable service — fire lines, irrigation or industrial water — or order the LF (lead-free) version of this model for drinking-water use.
