The Watts 77G-SS 2 1/2 is a 2-1/2" wye-pattern strainer with Flanged connections that removes pipeline debris and particulates to protect downstream equipment. It features a stainless body and a epdm seat. Rated to 200 psi.

This stainless steel flanged wye pattern strainer, 2 1/2 inch Watts Model 77G-SS, features a stainless steel body with flanged connections, stainless steel screen, ductile iron retainer cap with EPDM gasket, grooved coupling, and blow-down outlet. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and has a self-cleaning feature. It is suitable for use in potable water and food applications in compliance with NSF-61 and FDA requirements. Maximum pressure is (non-shock) 200 psi (13.8 bar) at 150 degree F (66 C) WOG.

Common Questions

Does it have a blowoff / blowdown port?

Yes. The retainer cap/cover is tapped for a blowoff connection, so you can flush accumulated debris by pulling the plug or piping a blowdown valve to it -- no need to break the strainer apart.

What is the "seat material" on a strainer?

A strainer has no seat -- nothing closes against anything. The EPDM called out here is the retainer-cap seal (the gasket between the cap and the body), which is what limits the temperature and chemical compatibility of the closure.
