The Watts 2000-M5 2 is a 2" hydronic flow-check valve with Flanged connections. It permits flow in one direction and closes against reverse flow. It features a cast iron body. Rated to 125 psi.

This 2 inch two-way universal flow check valve is for use in commercial and residential hydronic heating systems to provide positive shutoff when circulator is not running, preventing flow of water to radiation units. It is easily opened for gravity circulation. It combines angle and horizontal checks and consists of an iron body construction with female threaded connections, bronze seat, and brass center guide. The maximum pressure is 125 psi (8.6 bar).

Common Questions

Can I install it vertically?

Yes. The 2000-M5 2 is rated for horizontal or vertical lines. In a vertical run the flow must be upward through the valve, following the body arrow.

Does it come with a strainer?

No. This is an inline check valve only. If the line carries debris, install a strainer upstream — grit on the seat is the usual cause of a check valve weeping by.

Is it potable rated?

No. This model is not certified lead-free, so it is not for potable-water piping — it is specified for hydronic heating service. Watts LF-prefixed check valves cover potable applications.
