The Watts LFiDROSET CSD-050 is a 1/2" lead-free direct-reading balancing valve with Sweat connections. It features a lead-free brass and polyamide body and a epdm seat. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.
This 1/2 inch static balancing valve with built in calibrated flow meter is made for potable water systems. Combination union solder end fittings make maintenance quick and easy. Adjust flow rate with one hand by turning bezel which is lockable with Allen screw. Eliminates need for external test equipment and cumbersome pressure calculations. Integrated 1/4 inch NPT threaded port at one end of valve for adding optional temperature pressure gauge or sensors.

- No. The LFiDROSET CSD-050 reads flow directly. It has an integral GPM dial, factory-calibrated to +/-10%, so you turn the handwheel until the dial shows the design flow and lock it there. No differential-pressure meter, no hoses, no flow-chart lookup, and no second trip to the mechanical room. It holds that accuracy across a 25:1 turndown.
- Can it also shut off the circuit?
- Yes. The LFiDROSET CSD-050 gives positive, drip-tight shutoff, so it doubles as the service valve for the circuit and you do not have to buy and install a separate ball valve next to it. The memory stop preserves your balanced setting: close the valve for service, reopen it against the stop, and the circuit returns to the same flow without rebalancing.
- Can I use it on a domestic hot water recirculation line?
- Yes. The LFiDROSET CSD-050 is a lead-free model, which is what makes it legal for potable water — balancing a DHW recirculation loop means the valve sits in the drinking-water path. Use it to set the return flow on each riser so the far fixtures get hot water without over-pumping the near ones. The standard (non-LF) models in this series are for closed hydronic loops only.
