Watts iDROSET CSD-100 Balancing Valve, Brass and Polyamide, NPT

The Watts iDROSET CSD-100 is a 1" direct-reading balancing valve with NPT connections. It features a brass and polyamide body and a epdm seat.

This 1-inch calibrated flow measurement and balancing valve monitors system flow in low to medium flow rate HVAC units, providing highly accurate flow measurement and adjustment. It consists of a brass and polyamide body with F-NPT connections, integral patented technology that allows the reading and setting of flow rate without the need for instrumentation or tools. It is equipped with a GPM gauge to read flow and a hand wheel to set and lock the flow setting. Its ball valve construction allows full shut-off capability and is ideal in hot/chilled water units such as fan coil units, water source heat pumps, reheat coils, panel coils, small branch lines, unit heaters, unit ventilators, finned radiation and convectors.

Common Questions

Do I need a separate meter to read the flow?

No. The iDROSET CSD-100 reads flow directly. It has an integral GPM dial, factory-calibrated to +/-10%, so you turn the handwheel until the dial shows the design flow and lock it there. No differential-pressure meter, no hoses, no flow-chart lookup, and no second trip to the mechanical room. It holds that accuracy across a 25:1 turndown.

Can it also shut off the circuit?

Yes. The iDROSET CSD-100 gives positive, drip-tight shutoff, so it doubles as the service valve for the circuit and you do not have to buy and install a separate ball valve next to it. The memory stop preserves your balanced setting: close the valve for service, reopen it against the stop, and the circuit returns to the same flow without rebalancing.

Can I use it on a domestic hot water recirculation line?

No. The iDROSET CSD-100 is not a lead-free model, so it is restricted to closed hydronic heating and chilled-water loops and other non-potable service. For DHW recirculation balancing, choose the lead-free equivalent — the Watts LFCSM-61-S (PT-port) or LFiDROSET CSD (direct-reading).
