This 2-Piece full port cast iron FDA approved flanged ball valve, 8" Watts model G4000-FDA, is used in commercial, industrial, and process applications requiring a non-corrosive body finish or where a clean cosmetic appearance is desired. Since it is FDA approved it is ideal for potable water and food contact applications.

Is this full port or standard port?

Full port. The ball bore matches the line-size pipe ID, so the valve adds almost no restriction — the right choice for pump suction, main shutoffs, and any run where you cannot give up head.

Can I use this on natural gas or propane?

No. This valve carries no fuel-gas listing, and code requires an ANSI Z21.15 / CSA listed valve for natural gas or LP. Use a Watts GBV series gas ball valve instead.

Can it be serviced without cutting it out?

No. A 2-piece body is not designed for in-line rebuild; it is replaced as a unit. Choose a three-piece valve (LFB6800 / S-6800 series) where in-line serviceability matters.
