The Watts LFU009M2-PC-QT 1 is a 1" lead-free reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer with Union connections, approved for high health hazard protection. It features a copper body and a silicone seat. Rated to 175 psi and 33°F to 180°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

This 1 inch lead free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. Its compact modular design facilitates easy maintenance with a single access cover for in-line repairs. It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards and for contaminants at the service line entrance. This assembly consists of a lead free bronze body, union end connections, internal polymer coating, quarter turn ball valve shutoffs with tee handles, top mounted test cocks, two in-line independent check valves, captured springs, and replaceable check seats with an internal relief valve for reduced space requirements.

Is this model legal for potable water?

Yes. It is certified lead-free to NSF/ANSI 372, which is what state plumbing codes require for any device in a drinking-water line.

Does this assembly have to be tested every year?
