- This MegaPress 316 fitting is made for transitioning between IPS and CTS systems, use with Sch. 5 to Sch. 40 stainless steel pipe. It transitions between CTS-sized and IPS-sized ends; check each port against the pipe it joins.
- Which press tool and jaw do I need?
- Press it with jaws or rings made for the MegaPress profile. A jaw made for a different profile will not make a warrantable joint.
- What temperature and pressure is it rated for?
- It seals with a factory-installed EPDM sealing element, rated 0°F to 250°F (Viega seals and gaskets data). Viega's application chart rates this system to 200 psi.
- Can it be used on drinking water?
- Yes. Viega's application chart lists MegaPress 316 with the EPDM sealing element for potable water.
