The Viega MegaPress transition coupling (model 4813.4ZL, order code 76575) has a 1/2" Press x 1/2" FTG (CTS) port configuration and is made for transitioning between IPS sized pipe and CTS sized tube. It features a silicium bronze body. Rated to 0°F to 250°F. This model is certified lead-free for potable-water installations.

- Which pipe does this fitting fit?
- This MegaPress fitting is made for transitioning between IPS sized pipe and CTS sized tube. It transitions between CTS-sized and IPS-sized ends; check each port against the pipe it joins.
- Which press tool and jaw do I need?
- Press it with jaws or rings made for the MegaPress profile. A jaw made for a different profile will not make a warrantable joint.
- What temperature and pressure is it rated for?
- It seals with a factory-installed EPDM sealing element, rated 0°F to 250°F (Viega seals and gaskets data). Viega's application chart rates this system to 200 psi.
- Can it be used on drinking water?
- Viega's application chart does not list MegaPress for potable water. For drinking water use ProPress copper, ProPress 316 or MegaPress 316 with an EPDM element.
- How do I find a joint that was not pressed?
- Smart Connect technology: an unpressed connection leaks during a low-pressure test, so a missed press is found before the system goes into service.
