- Which pipe does this fitting fit?
- This ProPress fitting is made for use with ASTM B88 and B75 tubing. It is CTS sized: an IPS pipe of the same nominal size has a different outside diameter and will not seal in it.
- Which press tool and jaw do I need?
- Press it with jaws or rings made for the ProPress XL-C profile. XL sizes (2-1/2" to 4") use the XL ring system rather than the standard jaws. A jaw made for a different profile will not make a warrantable joint.
- What temperature and pressure is it rated for?
- It seals with a factory-installed EPDM sealing element, rated 0°F to 250°F (Viega seals and gaskets data). Viega's application chart rates this system to 300 psi.
- Can it be used on drinking water?
- Yes. Viega's application chart lists ProPress with the EPDM sealing element for potable water.
- How do I find a joint that was not pressed?
- Smart Connect technology: an unpressed connection leaks during a low-pressure test, so a missed press is found before the system goes into service.
