Common Questions

What does "loose key" mean on this stop?

The handle is a removable tee-shaped key, not a permanently attached wheel or lever -- the public cannot turn the stop off without the matching key. That makes it the standard choice for restrooms and other public or multi-tenant spaces where an on-site fixture needs to stay tamper-resistant.

Is this a quarter-turn or a multi-turn stop?

Multi-turn. It uses a rebuildable slow-compression cartridge that opens and closes through a full 360° for fine adjustment, closing against water pressure -- the traditional stop mechanism, not a quarter-turn ball valve.

What connections does this stop have?

1/2" FNPT on the inlet (to the building supply) and 3/8" OD Compression on the outlet (to the fixture supply line).

What is included in the box?

This stop ships as a complete fitting: Slip Wall Flange, 20" Flexible Supply Riser.

What pressure is this rated for?

20-125 PSI supply pressure, per Chicago's published rating for this model.
