Yes. It has a built-in ASSE 1070 thermostatic mixing valve, so the delivered water temperature is limited even if the hot supply runs too hot -- the code-required protection for K-12, healthcare and similar occupancies.

The sensor holds the water on for 40 seconds of continuous hand presence, then the safety auto-timeout closes it automatically. Removing and re-presenting your hands restarts detection.
